Activity of Appreciation of Seal Collection on Long March & Seal Cutting was Held Successfully

Qian Junzhen (1907-1998), born in Tudian, Tongxiang, Zhejiang Province, was a famous seal carver, calligrapher and painter. During the seventy years of Mr. Qian’s career, numerous art works were produced with a wide range of disciplines and unique insights. In order to enhance the interest of teachers and students in seal carving art and enhance our appreciation of seal carving art, on the evening of February 23rd, the library invited Mr. Wen Dapeng of Qian Juntao Art Research Institute as the keynote speaker to explain the story behind Mr. Qian's Seal Collection on Long March, and also to demonstrate and teach seal carving skills in the multi-functional hall of the library.

Series Activities of Seal Collection on Long March by Qian Juntao

In 1934, the Red Army of Workers and Peasants completed the 25,000-li Long March, from which Mr. Qian completed the Seal Collection on Long March in the artistic form of seal carving. At the beginning of the semester, the library cooperated with Qian Juntao Institute of Art to carry out physical exhibitions, manual seal carving experience, series of lectures and other activities in order to pay tribute to the magnificent history of the Long March.

Library Opening Hours and Service during the Winter Vacation

Dear all, According to the Notice re the Arrangements during the Winter Vacation on the International Campus, ZJU, library opening hours and service are arranged as follows: 1. Opening Hours During the winter vacation from January 12th to February 12th, library will open from 8:30-17:00 every Monday to Friday, accept the Spring Festival Holiday. Café will be closed. 2. Services  Book Circulation: If your book’s due date was after January 9th, it will be extended until March 7th. If not, the due date will not be extended.  Book Reservation: Book reservation will be suspended from January 12th to February 15th.  Yunyue Reading: During the winter vacation, you can still borrow books from Yunyue Reading platform. The returning point of Yunyue Reading will be closed from January 12th to February 12th. If your book’s due date was between January 10th and March 4th, it will be extended to another 51 days. If not, the due date will not be extended.  Inter-library Loan: Inter-library loan service will be suspended from January 5th to February 15th.  Device Rental & Room Booking Service: Service will be suspended during the winter vacation.  E-resources Access: Library website and digital resources will be on service as usual. Notice re Campus Services Arrangement during the New Year's Holiday

Wei Xue Salon-Living Library: Poetry and Hometown – an i-trip of Haining in the Poems of Xu Zhimo was Successfully held

Books are the key to wisdom. In order to cultivate teachers and students’ interests in reading and further enhance their understanding of the culture of famous people in Haining, Mr. Wang Ping from the Former Residence of Xu Zhimo was invited to lead us to follow the footsteps of the famous poet Xu Zhimo and travel through the landscape of Haining in Zhimo’s eyes in his poems. In the evening of November 19, on the 90th anniversary of Xu Zhimo's death, WEI XUE SALON living library “Poetry and Hometown” - An i-Trip of Haining in the Poems of Xu Zhimo was held in the Multifunction Room of the library.
