Play with the Office365-Teams

This semester's first information literacy lecture will be given by Beijian Yang, a senior lecturer of Microsoft Office series. From Microsoft Teams' overview of communication and collaboration, channels and teams, to the integration between Microsoft teams and Microsoft 365, such as Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, students will be presented one by one. Warm Tips re Library Service Arrangement during Winter Vacation

Dear all, The winter vacation is coming. Are you worried about books overdue during the winter vacation? Are you expected to borrow books at home? Don’t worry, here are the library service arrangements: 1. Library Service Hour Library will be closed from February 1st to February 26th and will resume normal opening from February 27th. 2. Service Arrangement • Consultation Service Consultation service will remain normal except for the Spring Festival on February 11th. The Library received 6 Volumes of Books from Mr. Shen Chi

Recently, Mr. Shen Chi, editor-in-chief of Haining History Office, donated 6 volumes of books to our library for which he was the executive editor, including Haining Journal, Haining Industry Journal, and Haining Tide Journal. After retirement, 74-year-old Shen Chi still decided to return to work in the Haining History Office, where he insisted on observing, investigating and writing, and served as executive editor of the Haining Industrial Journal, Haining Tide Journal and Haining Market Journal. The Library Information Center presented a donation certificate to Mr. Shen Chi and also expressed the gratitude to Mr. Shen Chi for his generous donation. Notice on New Books in International Campus Library

As of January 8, the shelving of new Chinese books for the Fall-Winter Semester of 2020-2021 has been completed. The total number of new arrived Chinese books on the shelves is 9,693 (detailed list is attached), of which more than 75% are professional academic books related to biomedical, computer, civil engineering and other campus disciplines, and also include Wenjin Award-winning books, Douban popular books and other outstanding works in humanities and social sciences. At present, all of them are placed in the Chinese book area on the second floor of the library for general lending. The library collection is built around the development of campus and disciplines, and books are selected according to the needs of readers at all levels, to build a reader-oriented collection system. WeiXue Fair | A Serial Activities of University of Edinburgh Alumni’s Works Exhibition Held Successfully

To create the reading atmosphere and to inspire the younger generation by the spirit of “Seeking Truth and Pursuing Innovation “, the serial activities of university of Edinburgh alumni's works exhibition were held on Intl-campus Library, Zhejiang University from Dec.14 to Dec.27. THE POSTER OF THE SERIAL ACTIVTIES In this reading promotion, both original works and Chinese edition of ten formers of the University of Edinburgh are selected from the library collection, displaying at an exhibition under three themes, including “Political and Economic Giants”, “Academic Glory” and “Chinese Elites”. In addition to the exhibition, documentaries and chapters of works of ten formers were selected to enhance the reading promotion in a deeper manner. THE EXHIBITION Teachers and students showed their interest and participated in the activities. This activity has benefited ZJUers a lot as they are inspired and encouraged by the scientific spirit by the formers, especially Kaijia Cheng and Xinbei Shu, who are both the alumni of the University of Edinbrugh and Zhejiang University. It carried out the spirit of seeking truth of Zhejiang University while they also feeling the spirit of “Front Wave”. A STUDENT READING AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF BENJAMIN FRANKLIN ONE STUDENT RECITING THE SELECTED CHAPTERS DOCUMENTARIES OF THE FORMERS In these serial activities, the reading atmosphere was well created, and spirit of “Seeking Truth and Pursuing Innovation “was advertised. This is an attempt of reading promotion; hopefully, the students can finally get into a habit of reading.
