Pasting the Door God  is one of the most ancient ritual of Spring Festival which has roots tracing back to the Zhou Dynasty . The predecessor of the Door God is called Taofu, also known as “peach board”. It is the two “Peach Man” carved from the mahogany named Shentu and Yulei; after a long history of development, the Chinese art of painting has become a perfect system with a clear concept, a clear scope, stable characteristics, and distinct appearance.

In this exhibition, 8 works of the collection of Gods, collected by Zhejiang University Library, are being displayed in the library of International Campus, along with 23 pieces of high-definition restoration paintings, including works of Door God with delicate lines, ink paintings with strokes of thin and thick inks, and calligraphy with full swing of lines and plentiful ink. Moreover, typographical works that record traditional techniques, are rich in form and diverse in content.
