Introduction: The popular offline foreign language book fair is here for a limited time! Over 3000 books will be exhibited, covering biomedical, engineering, business, literature, art, history and more. You select, we Collect. If you love reading, you don’t want to miss it!

Introduction: There is a book donation initiative sent out to you by the library.  Why not let your "dormant" books more valuable on the bookshelf of the library, so that more people can enjoy the joy of reading!


Event 4. English Writing Workshop: Tools to Improve Your English Writing

Introduction: Good command of English writing must rely on a lot of reading, solid grammatic knowledge, and good presentation skills. But are there any tools that can help you write English articles in a more professional way? The Library English Writing Workshop is on to help you make better choices of words, sentences and structure.

Event 1. WeiXue Fair: Song Dynasty Genre Activities — the Exhibition of the Series of Traditional Chinese Paintings

Time: Apr. 23rd to May 20th

Location: Library Corridor

Introduction: During the Song dynasty, with the improvement of people’s material living standards, their spiritual and cultural needs also increased, which had a profound impact on the art of painting. Genre painting reached its peak and flourishing period. The Library has selected 18 representative paintings from A Collection of Song Dynasty Paintings, the Series of Traditional Chinese Paintings to showcase the life and livelihood of the people of the Song dynasty through these vivid paintings.

 

Event 2. Book Exhibition: Here is Song Dynasty

Time: Apr. 10th to May 23rd

Location: Library Atrium

Introduction: Books are a record of old times. If you have a longing for the civilization of the Song dynasty, why not read a book about Song dynasty? You may find your memory of Song stored deep in your mind.

 

Event 3. READIO Radio Program: the Song Culture

Time: Apr. 18th, May 9th, May 23rd, 17:00-17:30

Introduction: A selection of highlights from the book exhibition will be broadcasted from three perspectives: academic culture research, common scenario recreation and poetry appreciation, taking you back to the prosperous era of Song dynasty.


Event 4. Song Dynasty Art Troupe: A Flash Mob

Time: May 6th & May 7th 12:30 a.m.

Location: Library Atrium

Introduction: The Song dynasty culture has been passed down to the present day, and the meaning of the poems and the emotion of the songs are always touching. The library has invited the “Song Dynasty Art Troupe” to give a wonderful performance combined with beautiful songs, lyrics and dances from Song dynasty, taking you to a trip back in time to enjoy the art from a thousand years ago.

 

Event 5. WeiXue Salon: Song Dynasty Dishes Cooking Competition

Time: May 14th

Location: the 3rd Floor of Dining Center

Introduction: The social environment of the Song Dynasty, with its “hundred years of stability”, gave birth to a distinctive food culture. The library, in collaboration with the Dining Center, is launching the “Song Dynasty Dishes Cooking Competition”, inviting you to have a try on Song dynasty dishes cooking.

Event 1. Haining Celebrities – the Exhibition of Wang Hongxi’s Haining Historical Celebrities Paintings

Time: Apr. 25th to May 25th

Location: Library Atrium

Introduction: The exhibition brings the 25 paintings of Haining’s historical celebrities – the “Haining Celebrities” series, created by Mr. Wang Hongxi, to the international campus library, providing an artistic perspective for us to admire and celebrate Haining’s great figures.

 

Event 2. Lecture: The Multi-layered Presentation of Academic Thought in Art and Literature - With Reference to Zhang Zongxiang’s Academic Interaction and Its Period

Time: Apr. 23rd, 18:00

Location: Library Multi-function Room, 1st Floor

Speaker: Wang Xuehai

Introduction: This event specially invited Wang Xuehai, a first-class literary creator, a member of the China New Literature Society and the chairman of the Haining Federation of Literary and Art Critics Association, to share with us the multi-level presentation of academic ideas in art and literature, citing the academic exchange of Mr. Zhang Zongxiang from Haining.

 

Event 3. The Exhibition on the Life and Achievements of Zhang Zongxiang

Time: Apr. 17th to Apr. 24th

Location: Library Atrium

Introduction: Mr. Zhang Zongxiang, a native of Haining, was a famous calligrapher and printmaker, as well as a good painter. This exhibition presents a collection of his life and academic achievements, from which you can get a sense of Mr. Zhang Zongxiang’s academic thoughts and scholarly manner.
