The lecture ‘Shining in the Light’—The Past and Present of Xiashi Lantern was held in library multi-function room on November 27th.

Combining real objects with PPT to show the lantern culture, Master Hu made it deeply and perceptual for audiences to understand Chinese traditional culture. Master hu also gave details of Xiashi lantern history and its' development according to time-base. Audiences could learn the beginning from local history and ancient poems, and know the development from lantern features in modern time such as the large-scaling, diversification, special skills, cultural connotation, classification and so on. All the lantern artists are making innovations in materials, technology, and types to keep pace with the times.

Master hu also taught audiences to make simple lanterns after the lecture. They were sharing the happiness and experiences amusedly.

Around 20 audiences attended the lecture and Master Hu showed an agelong and attractive Chinese culture to us.

It not only shows long-age and charming traditional Chinese culture , but also gives an opportunity to audiences to experience the culture by themselves. We believe that Chinese traditional culture will shine and keep energetic by the communication between Chinese and foreigners.
