To create the reading atmosphere and to inspire the younger generation by the spirit of “Seeking Truth and Pursuing Innovation “, the serial activities of university of Edinburgh alumni's works exhibition were held on Intl-campus Library, Zhejiang University from Dec.14 to Dec.27.

THE POSTER OF THE SERIAL ACTIVTIES

                           

In this reading promotion, both original works and Chinese edition of ten formers of the University of Edinburgh are selected from the library collection, displaying at an exhibition under three themes, including “Political and Economic Giants”, “Academic Glory” and “Chinese Elites”. In addition to the exhibition, documentaries and chapters of works of ten formers were selected to enhance the reading promotion in a deeper manner.

THE EXHIBITION

 

Teachers and students showed their interest and participated in the activities. This activity has benefited ZJUers a lot as they are inspired and encouraged by the scientific spirit by the formers, especially Kaijia Cheng and Xinbei Shu, who are both the alumni of the University of Edinbrugh and Zhejiang University. It carried out the spirit of seeking truth of Zhejiang University while they also feeling the spirit of “Front Wave”.

In these serial activities, the reading atmosphere was well created, and spirit of “Seeking Truth and Pursuing Innovation “was advertised. This is an attempt of reading promotion; hopefully, the students can finally get into a habit of reading. In the future, library will try to explore more ways of reading promotion to enhance reading atmosphere.
