“TO READ, TO THINK, TO DO” —World Book Reading Day Serial Activities Wear Successfully Held

April 23rd, 2021 was the 26th World Book Reading Day. In order to appreciate the beauty of classics, thinking and wisdom through different forms of reading, Library held the World Book Reading Day Serial Activities from April 23 to May 20, which led readers to experience the interests of reading from multiple dimensions through sight and hearing.

On the evening of April 23rd, WeiXue SalonLiving Library—Listen to The SeasonsVinyl Appreciation was warmly welcomed. In the warm but hazy atmosphere, readers gathered together and listened to the living book, Liu Liguang telling the story of vinyl.

At the same time, Nature Cover & Story Exhibition at the corridor on the second floor of library also lifted its mystery. Whether it was the artistic reproduction of the blue jet or the exploration of the Viking Age, it implicitly showed the beauty of
nature hidden behind the cover.

In early May, the Party History Study and Education Recommended Reading Exhibition kicked off on the first floor of the library, integrating the national belief into reading, and guiding readers to increase trust and respect morality from learning history.

In mid-May, lectures on paper writing and journal submission were held in the Multi-function Room as scheduled. On May 12th, Dr. Tianyu Liu talked about some common but overlooking pitfalls when writing and submitting research papers. On May 14th, Dr. Bai Cong introduced the use of ScienceDirect full-text database. On-site teachers and students all believed the lecture was of great benefit to their own essay writing.

From May 14th to May 16th, over 3,000 original foreign language books were selected for the fair. By the end of the event, the library had received over 500 books recommended by teachers and students, covering various disciplines such as biomedical science, engineering, computer science, economics, humanities and social sciences, etc., which fit the professional study and research of teachers and students on the campus.

The World Book Reading Day Serial Activities were innovatively launched in various forms, which fully aroused the reading enthusiasm of the campus readers. Although the various activities had come to a successful conclusion, "reading well at all times, everyone is good at reading" should be deeply rooted in the heart of everyone.
