American Society of Civil Engineers was founded in 1852, a national specialized engineer society with the longest history. Now, as a global leader in the field of civil engineering, the service has covered 130 thousand specialists from 159 countries. In order to encourage information exchange, ASCE has established partnership with 65 civil engineering societies of other countries.

In the year 2016, ASCE database contain 35 professional journals (27 of them included by SCI, 8 of them rank among the top 10 in their identical subject in terms of impact factor), over 425 volumes of proceedings and all kinds of books and standards. ASCE released ASCE Online Proceedings in 2004, containing the proceedings of meetings organized by ASCE or cooperated with other famous societies. Proceedings focus on practical application and provide researchers and practitioners with comprehensive and detailed research information. ASCE proceedings are core resources in the field of civil engineering and cannot be obtained via other channels.

ASCE publications cover: Mechanics, Management, Structural, Construction, Environmental, Urban Planning, Geotechnical, Water Resources, Hydraulic, Coastal and Ocean, Aerospace, Materials, Architectural, Professional Issues, Energy, Transportation, Infrastructure, Computing in Civil Engineering

ZJU Library purchased 35 types of journals, proceedings and Civil Engineering Magazine Archive from ASCE. ASCE conference information can be searched via http://www.asce.org/conferences_events

Updates:

In January 2019, ZJU Library purchased 369 e-books, covering structural engineering, construction engineering, environmental engineering, geographical engineering, natural disasters (earthquake and tsunami etc.), water resources management and civil engineering career strategy. Contents involve chemistry, architecture, computer science, etc. Types include technical report, practical handbook, special publication and books on all kinds of engineering.

TCLEE

TCLEE stands for Technical Council on Lifeline Earthquake Engineering Monographs. The series aimed at motivating the development of cutting edge technology in lifeline earthquake engineering. Thus, it covers the discoveries made when assessing the loss of a disaster. Meanwhile it revealed problems appeared in some lifeline projects(electric and communication facilities, oil and gas systems, water processing systems).

TCCRE

TCCRE stands for Technical Council on Cold Regions Engineering Monograph. TCCRE series reviewed the status of cold region engineering. Specialists are invited to join in the edit and review of each chapter.

CDRM

CDRM stands for Council on Disaster Risk Management Monograph. CDRM intensively     introduced disaster risk assessment and methods to ease risks, especially how to confirm the risk level and risk assessment standards that people can bear and how to assess the engineering systems abilities to resist disasters. Meanwhile, it stress the effects of lifeline facilities. (The series contain a part of proceedings)

Technical Report

The series provided practical experience with the time span over 20 years. The report covers a variety of topics, such as post disaster loss assessment, engineering project case analysis, and sustainable construction and environmental engineering, which have attracted special attention in recent years.

Manual of Practice

Manual of Practice e-books offers the standard practice of a particular technology and the analysis on its limitations. Civil engineers can apply the practical information from MOP in their daily works. Most of the MOP e-books have passed the impartiality and authority review of Blue Ribbon Panel.

ASCE Press

The selected books in the series are composed by authors with high authority in the field. They are practical and heuristic, aiming at promoting technical knowledge and helping the career development of civil engineers and other specialists. Other than the featured subjects, it also includes books that engineers commonly interested in, for example, knowledges on management, teaching methods, standard guidelines and engineering history.
