Reading is a magnificent journey of the soul. There is great beauty in heaven and earth without words. Only reading allows you to discover, at any time, the famous mountains and rivers, monuments and scenic spots, forests and valleys, and exotic flowers. The annual World Book Day is coming. Let's go and start this wonderful journey. Event 1: You Select, We Collect — English Book Fair Time: May 14th - May 16th Location: Atrium on the first floor of the library Introduction: The English book fair is coming again and brings you the most fresh and innovative reading feast. Come and select your favorite books. And enjoy the charm of the English books. Event 2: The Beauty of Science — Nature Cover & Story Exhibition Time: Apr. 23rd – May 20th Location: Corridor on the second floor of the library Introduction: There is a world in a sand. There is a heaven in a flower. Holding the truth in the palm of your hand. The moment of time is eternity. The beauty of science is hidden behind every cover of Nature. Please come with us and enter the story behind the covers. Event 3: Listen to the Seasons — Living Library: Vinyl Appreciation Time: Apr. 23rd Location: Multi-functional Room Introduction: If there is a musical medium that has traveled through the centuries and is still alive and popular in modern times. The medium is undoubtedly vinyl records. The time flies quickly, just like the passing clouds. Only the classics can still play in years. Event 4: Explore the Thoughts - Journal Academic Lectures Time: May 12th & May 14th Location: Multi-functional Room Introduction: Paper writing and submitting are two difficult tasks for every academic researcher. The Library has invited journal editors from Wiley and Elsevier to help with the "pain points" of paper writing and submitting for all fresh researchers. Event 5: #Line4, Page23 — Recommend Your Book at Hands Time: May 6th – May 20th Location: Corridor on the second floor of the library Online Participation: LIC WeChat Official Account Introduction: There is a heaven on earth, which cannot be reached, but is attractive. “To Witness the Ancient Through Paintings”—Wei Xue Fair Ended Successfully

To meet the cultural needs of readers and to improve their understanding of sinology culture, the serial activities of WeiXue Fair were held in the Library from Mar.15th to Apr.20th. The WeiXue Fair included three activities, Ancient Painting Exhibition, WeiXue Lecture and WeiXue Salon. It extended from the elegant art of the ancients to the social culture of Song, Yuan and Ming dynasties, which brought readers to a grand ceremony of Chinese culture. The Ancient Painting Exhibition, as the main component of WeiXue Fair, officially started at March 15th. It was located at the corridor on the second floor of library. A total of 18 ancient paintings were exhibited and related book resources were introduced. Lots of students stopped to admire the paintings, wandering in the interesting world of the ancients. The WeiXue Lecture of Ancient Paintings Special had selected all kinds of documentaries about traditional music, chess, calligraphy and painting, bringing an audio-visual feast of Chinese Classics. The Living library invited the members of Chinese Traditional Culture Club@intl.ZJU to introduce the traditional Chinese arts of Guqin and calligraphy to readers in Multi-function Room. Audiences were fascinated by the charm of traditional art at the scene. Guqin Playing On-site This event not only created a good cultural atmosphere in the library, but also enriched the spiritual world of students and teachers. The event is a cultural inculcation and popularization of national science that reach out to the reader community and spread the elegance of classical culture and art.
