Mr. Zhou Jiangang Donates " Splendid Dreams: Zhou Jiangang's Complete Illustrations of Dream of the Red Chamber" to the Library

On September 29, 2025, during the "Splendid Dreams" themed illustration exhibition jointly held by the Library and Zhejiang University Press, renowned artist Mr. Zhou Jiangang visited the campus and donated two signed copies of his exquisite art book "Splendid Dreams: Zhou Jiangang's Complete Illustrations of Dream of the Red Chamber" to the library.

You Select, We Collect! 2025 Library Chinese Book Fair (Online & Offline) Invites Your Participation

Finding and Utilizing Factual and Data Resources

In our daily study, life and work, we often need to search for knowledge and information about facts and data. Fact resources can help us understand the information of specific institutions or individuals, as well as the meanings of certain terms and expressions; numerical resources can help us obtain reliable scientific data, economic statistics and operational data, etc. How can we find authoritative and reliable sources of fact and data resources? Libraries have purchased many fact and data resource databases, and there are also a large number of open access fact and data resources on the Internet. Literature Review Before Topic Proposal and Project Establishment - Science and Engineering

This lecture introduces a series of literature search methods related to the proposal, including how to choose databases, how to search, how to read and analyze literature, etc. It also provides a deep explanation and operation demonstration of the process of expanding search terms, compiling search terms, adjusting and determining search terms, etc., using a specific research topic as an example, to improve everyone's ability to search and utilize literature resources and help them successfully propose their research.

Using specific research topics as examples, it provided an in-depth explanation and live demonstration of the entire process—from expanding search terms and formulating search queries to refining and finalizing search strategies. The session aimed to enhance participants' ability to retrieve and utilize literature resources effectively, thereby supporting successful literature The library launches the "Information Literacy Training" every academic year, aiming to cultivate humanities literacy, information literacy, data literacy, intellectual property literacy, media literacy, and scientific research literacy among faculty, staff and students, empowering them to achieve academic breakthroughs and comprehensive development in the digital era. This semester, the Information Literacy Lectures consist of ‌14 sessions‌, covering topics such as academic writing, literature search, practical tool usage, and AI literacy.
