Library and IT Services Opening Hours during Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Holiday

Dear all, According to “Notice of the president’s office of Zhejiang University on arrangements of some holidays in 2018” issued by ZJU, campus library and IT services opening hours are arranged as follows: The library and Fusion Café will still open on September 22nd and 23rd, and only be closed on September 24th during the Mid-Autumn Festival. During the National Day Holiday, the library and Fusion Café will be closed from October 1st to October 3rd and be reopened from October 4th. We are sorry for any inconvenience. IT Helpdesk will open at 1st floor of library during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Holiday, the working hour is between 8:30-17:30. ITS hotline（87572669） will still provide 24*7 service. . Exhibition of Plant Specimen in Library

For presenting colorful plants, enriching teachers and students’ cultural life, Library and Information Center will hold an exhibition of plant specimens. The exhibition will display 27 works from Herbarium of Zhejiang University, all objects are equipped with graphic introductions. Meanwhile, plant glue works and plant postcards will be presented for all of you. The exhibition also shows the high technique of preserving plant specimens, exhibitors could know more about botanical knowledge as well as our university at the same time. Notice on Ancient Chinese Painting Exhibition in Library

Chinese painting is one of the traditional arts in China, it embodies the ancient people’s view of nature and society. For promoting and developing the national culture, fostering teachers and students’ taste for beauty, Library and Information Center will hold an exhibition of Ancient Chinese Painting. The exhibition chooses 10 pieces of paintings from famous ancient Chinese painters, all objects are equipped with audio guide, which can be obtained by scanning QR codes in WeChat. In addition, the library will display the complete painting atlas of Song Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty in the atrium shelves. English Bookfair Successfully Held

o better support learning, teaching and researching in the university and expand library collections, Library and Information Center, together with China National Publications Import & Export Corporation held an English Book Fair on Campus from May 16th to May 19th. More than 4,000 English books were displayed, including Engineering, Biology, Medicine, Mathematics, Management, Language and Literature, Education, etc. The book fair was welcomed by all teachers and students, about 20 teachers and students recommended more than 600 books. The recommended books will be catalogued as soon as possible. The book fair not only provides the teachers and students an opportunity to contact with the new English books directly, but also makes the library understand the readers ' needs better and helps to build the reader-oriented library collection. We look forward to more opportunities in the future to provide readers with better resources, so that the library could give a strong support of teaching and learning.
