“Getting Skills from Treasure Hunting and Knowledge of ZJU Subjects”

It's the season of freshmen again. In order to help freshmen, adapt to campus life as soon as possible and quickly get to know services and resource of the library, welcome activities were held in library from August 20 to September 30. Before their arrivals, we create a strong atmosphere for welcoming new students.

Notice on the Trial Opening of Scite (Smart Citation) Database

Smart Citations in Scite is a tool for discovering and evaluating scientific articles, covering more than 900 million citation statements extracted and analyzed from more than 30 million full-text articles, as well as more than 1 billion original citations. Compared to traditional citation indexes, Smart Citations not only displays the bibliographic information shown in traditional citations, but also provides citation statements, citation context, citation position in the cited text (e.g. information on introduction, methods, results, discussion, etc.), citation intent (support, dispute or mention) and editorial information (e.g. information on corrections, retractions, etc.). Notice on the Trial Opening of the Provincial Statistical Database of China Economic Network

The provincial statistical database of China Economic Network contains macroeconomic and social indicators of 31 provinces, more than 300 prefectures and cities, and nearly 3000 county units, which comprehensively reflects the economic and social development of each province, district and city, as well as the cities and county units under their jurisdiction. To Play with Office365: Outlook & OneDrive — Your Study Must-haves

College announcements, event information, and equipment reservation reminders… Emails deliver various tedious matters. This week, a senior lecturer of Microsoft Office will teach you how to use Outlook for email sending and creating a personal calendar to keep things organized. In addition, there are OneDrive practical techniques, such as file sharing and multi-person document editing, to facilitate team collaboration. Come and learn together!

Notice re the Arrangement of Campus Services During the National Day Holiday

Dear all, According to the Notice re the Arrangement of Some Holidays in 2022, campus services during the National Day holiday (1st – 7th October) are as follows: 1. Library & Café: Closed from 1st to 3rd October, and will open as usual from 4th October. E-resources are still accessible on library website (https://lib.intl.zju.edu.cn/). The length of life cannot be changed, but life has become wider because of reading. To enable the readers of the campus to feel the power of words in reading and understand the e meaning of science in classical literature, we held a "marathon" reading trip on September 17. The activity was divided into two activities, in which we deeply discussed ancient topics as the universe life with A Brief History of Time, and groups psychology in The Crowd. Activity one: Independent thinking and critical consciousness, a book club of The Crowd The birth of The Crowd has epoch-making significance, which has profoundly affected the historical process of the 20th century. On the morning of September 17, the library cooperated with the student Reading Society to hold a book club of discussing on human social psychology.
