ICE Journal of the Institution of Civil Engineers

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) was established in 1818. It is the eldest professional engineering organization in the world, with a history of nearly 200 years. It is still a non-profit industry-academic organization and the world's largest independent organization representing individual civil engineers. At present, the membership is in more than 100 countries, with more than 80,000 people.  ICE is also the only academic institution in the international civil engineering industry that has the dual functions of academic exchange and professional qualification certification. The ICE International Practice Qualification Certificate issued by ICE is the only internationally recognized certificate in the field of civil engineering. 

CSMAR

CSMAR is the largest professional high-tech company engaged in the design and development of accurate database of financial and economic information in China, and the only Chinese data provider included in the Wharton Research Service system by Wharton Business School in the Greater China region.  CSMAR (China Stock Market & Accounting Research Database) is a data platform based on CRSP and COMPUSTAT, which is supported by a professional R & D team from China Finance Research Center of the University of Hong Kong, China Accounting and Finance Research Center of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Shanghai Stock Exchange, Shenzhen Stock Exchange and other professional research institutions and investment industry and other international well-known database construction standards for the development of academic research for the purpose of advanced professional, accurate database fusion construction. 

Nature

In 2005, as part of the Year of Elite Technology, the British Consulate General in Shanghai donated £20,000 to Zhejiang University to buy online scientific journals published by British publishing houses.  Nature, as the world's first international science and technology journal, has consistently reported and commented on the most important breakthroughs in global technology since its inception in 1869. The National Science and Technology Library, or NSTL, has been providing access to Nature weekly data from 1869 to 1986 for users of national institutions since 2009. The library has supplemented its order of backtracked data for Nature Weekly 1987-1996. Our readers can access Nature Weekly's articles from the year of its inception to the present day from the main site. 

2022 iResearch Foreign Language E-book Program E-book Purchase Announcement

In order to meet the demand for digital resources of International Campus, Zhejiang University, to support teaching and research, and promote the construction of campus disciplines, the International Campus Library opens the iResearch foreign language e-book platform. We adopt the Evidence - based Selection purchasing mode, which means opena certain number of resources access privileges and determine the final purchases according to user utilization data after the expiration of the access time. The iResearch platform has been opened since July 2022, containing more than 60,000 e-books, with an access period of one year. After one year of use, the library intends to purchase 279 kinds of foreign language e-books according to the user usage data. Please refer to "2022 iResearch Purchase List" for details. “Never Say Goodbye, Pursue Dreams with Books” —— The 2023 Library Graduation Series Activities Successfully Held

The “Farewell, ZJU” graduation series activities were held from June 1st to June 30th, mainly included seven activities such as photo wall, mood sharing board, message drifting bottles, book donation, etc. These activities were popular among the graduates, and the participation was out of expectation, reaching the highest in history.

Notice re Library Opening Hours and Service during the Summer Vacation

Dear all,  According to Notice re the Arrangements during the 2023 Summer Vacation on the International Campus, library opening hours and service are arranged as follows: 1. Opening Hours During the summer vacation, the library will open from 8:30-17:00 every Monday to Friday. 2. Opening Area 1st and 2nd floor will be open. The café, the corridor between the Library and Teaching and Learning Building B and the 3rd floor will be closed. If you want to borrow books with its classification from A to K, please go to the library Information Desk directly. 3. Services Book Circulation: If your due date was after July 3rd, it will be extended until September 18th. If not, the due date will not be extended. Yunyue Reading: During the summer vacation, you can still borrow books from Yunyue Reading platform and books can be delivered within mainland China. The returning point of Yunyue Reading will be closed from July 3rd to September 6th. If your due date was between June 26th and September 17th, it will be extended to another 83 days. If not, the due date will not be extended. Book Reservation: Book Reservation will be suspended from June 30th to September 6th. Device Rental Service: Device Rental Service will be suspended during the summer vacation. E-resources Access: Library website and digital resources will be on service as usual. During the summer vacation, all students, faculty, and staff could visit digital resources of library off campus by RVPN by or by CARSI service. Notice on the Official Launch of Oxford English Dictionary

The Oxford Online Dictionary of English (OED) is the definitive English dictionary and an essential tool in the study and learning of the English language. Its content comes from the 20-volume Oxford English Dictionary, and the online database content is updated quarterly based on the latest release of the paper-based dictionary. Functions of the online database include searching for words, meanings, contexts, citations, and etymologies, and it not only contains the full text of the Oxford English Dictionary, but also the Oxford English Dictionary Thesaurus of Synonyms.
