Information Literacy Training

As time went by the online course has been offered for more than a month, the information literacy training has started as scheduled.

Last Friday night, the Library and Information Center invited Lii mengyao, a  lecturer from Elsevier, to give a professional online  lecture for the students of international campus. The novel lecture form has attracted the attention of many students. The number of people attended was more than 20 in the first few minutes of the lecture.

Taking COVID-19 as an example, the lecture showed students how to make use of the Science Direct platform to search related academic resources quickly and comprehensively. It also introduced some tips of using Science Direct, such as introducing the exact articles users want according their past  searching cookies, shortcut of searching on mobile phone, remote access, etc.

Through this lecture, students not only learned about ScienceDirect, an academic search platform, but also learned practical searching skills. Moreover, many students  put forward their own questions on how to get citation format, and how to search interface keywords quickly, etc., the lecturer gave professional answers.

Before  return to campus, information literacy lectures will be conducted online. There will be more wonderful online lectures in the future. I hope that all of you will join us!
