This offline event continues our One-book Project for Summer Vacation of reading Plants of the World, where teachers and students have joined online reading check-ins. Step out from books, wander among campus plants, listen to the stories about flora, read excerpts from Plants of the World, collect autumn botanicals, and make roses with golden‑rain‑tree seed pods. Let's discover even slight delights and small beauties hidden across campus through observation and handcrafting.
Activities:
1.Part I: Walking Reading - Plants of the World Outdoor Reading Session
- Campus Plant Tour: Learn about plant names, blooming periods, campus distribution, habits and maintenance stories.
- Excerpt Appreciation: Read passages from Plants of the World related to on-site plants.
- Autumn Gathering: During the tour, participants collect natural materials for handcrafting.
2.Part II: Turning Collected Joys into Works - Golden-rain-tree Roses-making Workshop
- Making Handcrafts: Make roses with golden‑rain‑tree seed pods and botanicals collected during the walking-reading session.
- Leaving Messages: After finishing craft, participants may voluntarily leave messages and receive limited-edition postcards printed with campus plants and excerpts from Plants of the World.
