One-Book Project for Freshmen: Reading to Kick-off Your College Journey

Image

How do tiny behavioral changes lead to remarkable long-lasting results? How do you make the most of college life?

What kind of person do you choose to become?

Collaborating with the Language Center, iZJU library organizes a one-book project each year to help freshman students ease into college life more quickly through books and reading. This year, we invited Julia NG to talk about the above questions with you through the following three books and sessions.

Speaker: Julia Ng

Introduction: ‌ Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics from Ohio University, USA. She is a CELTAqualified language teacher and has delivered a wide range of English courses at universities across China for more than a decade. An avid reader of psychology and personal growth, she believes reading for pleasure is underrated in this TikTok era of instant gratification. Reading sharpens the mind, quenches one's desire for novelty, and compels us to challenge our ways of thinking and being - something that she hopes, through her book lectures, will inspire freshman students to experience for themselves.
