Chinese bird and flower painting has always been highly admired. And the way of recording them has changed from the brushstrokes to the high-definition lens of photographers.

Activity 1: The Exhibition of Song Dynastys Bird Paintings and Their Modern Interpretations

Introduction: The library has selected 25 bird paintings from ancient Chinese paintings, combined with corresponding bird photography works recorded by ECO Club members of the International Campus. Lets focus our attention on the "companions" of the past thousand years and jointly pay attention to the ecological environment and protect nature. Let the beautiful and vivid birds in ancient paintings not only exist in the memory of history, but also be more active in our current life.

Time: Oct. 3rd to Nov. 5th, 2024

Location: Library Atrium, 1st Floor

Activity 2: One Days Birding

Rules: You may choose any day during the exhibition period to go bird-watching on campus and record the species you observe using the "Bird Watching Record Center" or "eBird"(app or website, recommended for international students). Those who present their observation records and photos at the library information desk can receive a gift, and each student is limited to one gift.

Tips: Bird watching records do not require submission of audio or video evidence, just your own recognition of the bird species is enough. You can use the the "inaturalist" app for bird species identification. If you are still unsure about a bird species, you can ask in the wechat group of eco club (it is best to have photos or audio recordings or have noted the correct features and habitat of the bird you saw when asking in the wechat group).

You can find the tactics on bird-watching at the attachment!
