PubMed is a web-based medical literature search system developed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information of the U.S. National Library of Medicine. With powerful search and linking capabilities, PubMed is the world's most utilized free online database for finding medical literature. It contains abstracts and partial full texts of more than 4,600 important biomedical journals from over 70 countries and regions around the world, of which more than 80% have English abstracts or links to full text, and about 5% can be viewed for free. PubMed includes MEDLINE, PREMEDLINE and literature databases provided directly by publishers. The records in the PREMEDLINE database are marked with "PubMed-in process", which is a database composed of literature records that are being processed; the literature records provided directly by the publisher are marked with "PubMed-as Supplied by Publisher", and they transmitte records to PREMEDLINE every day. Once included in PreMEDLINE, they will be marked as "PubMed-in process" and transferred to MEDLINE after being indexed.
Note: Recently, some teachers and students have reported that the access speed of PubMed is slow, which affects the normal use.
It is understood that the main reason is that some functions of Google are embedded in PubMed. Due to the instability of domestic network access to Google, the loading speed of PubMed page is slow.
