The Ovid search platform is provided by Ovid Technologies INC., which was founded in 1984 and acquired by Wolters Kluwer in November 1998, becoming a subsidiary of Kluwer. The platform provides users with a consistent search interface for bibliographic and abstract databases from many different sources. It contains more than 300 databases on humanities, social sciences, and science, including MEDLINE. All databases are connected through a CERNET dedicated line.
