How to retrieve

1.How to determine whether books can be borrowed?

If the search result page shows that the status of the book / return time is on shelf, it indicates that the book can be borrowed. If he status of a single book is displayed as reading only, it indicates that the book can only be read within library. If the item status displays in borrowed, it indicates that the book has been borrowed.

The location of books is mainly determined by the branch library, collection place and the call number.

Branch Library

The library of the international campus is displayed as Chinese Circulation of the International Branch and Foreign Language Circulation of the International Branch. There are not only international branches, but also Zijingang, Yuquan and Xixi branches. If the branch name is an international branch, it indicates that the book is in the International Campus, and readers can find it on the bookshelf. If not, it indicates that the book is in other branches. Readers need to click the reservation button to make an appointment.

Collection Place

The books of the international campus library are mainly distributed on the second and third floors. The Oxford handbook is located in area A on the second floor, and some foreign language new books are located in the atrium on the first floor.

Call Number (Shelf Position)

Normally call numbers of books in our library have two lines: the top line is the code of Chinese Library Classification (CLC) and the bottom line is the category number. Some multi volume books will have a third line. The content of the third line is the volume number, which represents the number of volumes in a set of books. The classification number represents the content of a book. The  category number generally uses the author number, that is, the author's information is displayed. The author information generally displayed in our library is the Pinyin initial of the author's surname. There are also other situations. For example, the  category number of a biography uses the initials of the name of the person to be put down in writing.

First, the books are sorted on the bookshelves with the initials A-Z of the classification number in the call number, please refer to the Chinese Library Classification. Books with the first letter of the call number A-K are located on the third floor and those of N-Z on the second floor. The call number identifications posted on the bookshelf help readers quickly find the approximate position of the book classification (A-Z). The books with the same initial in category number are sorted from small to large according to each letter or number after the initial.

Secondly, books with the same classification number are sorted according to the initials A-Z of the category number. Books with the same first letter of the title number are sorted according to the size of the following letters or numbers.

Location of Books

searching books

The location of the book is determined by the branch library of books on the search page, the collection location and the call number (shelf position). For example, the branch library of To Live is Chinese Circulation of the International Branch, indicating that the book is located on the shelves on the second or third floors of the international campus. Its call number is I247 57/CY3. 31, indicating that the book is located on the class I bookshelf on the third floor. After finding the approximate position of class I, scan the call number on the spine. According to I I2-I24-I247-I247.5-I247.57-I247.57/C-I247.57/CY- I247.57/CY3.31 until you find the book.
